INVITATION

We are pleased to inform you that in 2004 ICMET Craiova celebrates 30 years of activity and makes use of this opportunity for organizing a jubilee symposium and also the second edition of the "International Symposium on High Voltage and High Power Tests, Measurement and Qualification of Electric Power Equipment".

We shall be honored if you would accept to be our guest, and to present some of the latest results of your research work.

OBJECTIVES

The aim of these two events is to promote the constructive dialogue between members of the scientific and industrial community, both from the country and abroad, to identify new research and development trends in the field of heavy current electrical engineering. On this occasion, ICMET's achievements will be shown to the participants, by organizing a visit to its accredited laboratories.

The sections of SIMC - EE 2004 are the following:

• Test and measuring/calibration techniques specific in high voltage laboratories
• Test and measuring/calibration techniques specific in high power laboratories
• Research-development in Romanian electrical engineering. Outlooks
• On-site diagnosis and monitoring of electric power equipment
  

Language

English will be the language of the Symposium, used for all printed or CD recorded materials.

Deadlines

• Receipt of abstract and reply-form: April 15, 2004
• Notification of acceptance: May 15, 2004
• Receipt of full texts for final review: June 30, 2004
  

Notice to Contributors

1. Papers selection will be performed on the basis of a large abstract (400 - 500 words), which should contain the title of the proposed paper, name and affiliation of the authors, mailing address.
Abstracts will be sent to the e-mail address: market@icmet.ro

2. All papers should be original and unpublished previously.

The abstracts of the accepted papers will be published in a volume.
At the symposium opening, each participant will receive a CD containing all the papers in extenso.

Preliminary program

• October 13, 2004 - festive opening followed by presentation of certain papers concerning the activity performed within ICMET and the outlooks of its activity field
• October 14 - 15, 2004 - Symposium works, carried on within the framework of the four sections. This second part of the scientific event will be held in Baile Herculane (beautiful resort located about 100 km far from Craiova)
