Acest laborator este dotat cu ultimele tehnici de masurare care permit incercarea transformatoarelor de putere, transformatoarelor de masura si a aparatajului de inalta tensiune, inclusiv incercari de tip si speciale in conformitate cu standardele internationale.

Din anul 1995, Laboratorul a fost acreditat de catre Asociatia de Acreditare din Romania – RENAR (membra a ILAC si EA) in conformitate cu IEC / ISO 17025.

Laboratorul de Incercari la Inalta Tensiune consta din:

- o camera de inalta tensiune ecranata (48 m x 32 m x 27 m) pentru incercarile speciale si de tip (cu generatorul de impuls de 4,2 MV, cascada de transformatoare de curent alternativ 1,2 MV si, redresorul de c.c in cascada de 1,1 MV, echipamentul de ploaie artificiala)
- camera de tensiune indusa (36 m x 32 m x 27 m) pentru testele de rutina
- camp de incercare in aer liber (30 m x 35 m) pentru incercarea de fiabilitate.
